UNEC celebrates the World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day
Event on the eve of the “World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day” was held in the Faculty of “Economics and Industry” of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). Advisor to the Minister of Finance, economist, scholar and poet Elkhan Jafarov, President of the “Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Friendship Association” Eldar Gunaydin, the administration of the faculty, UNEC’s teaching and student staffs took part at the event.
Advisor to the Minister of Finance Elkhan Jafarov noted that the holiday celebrated at the national level demonstrates the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s foresight, the ability to unite the people around him and the marking of the Solidarity Day became a need and moral necessity for the World’s Azerbaijanis.
President of the “Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Friendship Association” Elkhan Jafarov said that declaring December 31 the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day on December 16 1991 the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Heydar Aliyev was able to raise the idea of unity and solidarity to the level of state policy, taking into account the importance of the unity of the World Azerbaijanis.
Elhkan Jafarov’s poetry was talked about and his poems and songs composed and performed by the famous singers were heard during the event.
Events on the occasion of the World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day and New Year were also held at the Schools of Turkic World of Business Administration, International Economic Relations and Business Administration. Performances by the UNEC Creative Center were demonstrated within the events.
