The event commenced with a moment of silence in honor of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Following this, a video presentation dedicated to the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis was screened.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of the territorial party organization at Istiglaliyyat 6 and UNEC Vice-Rector for Administrative and Organizational Affairs, Associate Professor Shaig Asgarov, emphasized that the massacre committed by Armenian armed groups against Azerbaijanis has been inscribed in our nation’s history in bloody letters. He noted that Armenian aggressors have repeatedly taken treacherous steps against our homeland and people. He also underlined that, for the first time, a political assessment of this tragedy was made at the state level through the Decree on the Genocide of Azerbaijanis signed by National Leader Heydar Aliyev on March 26, 1998, and that this political course is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
Subsequently, Associate Professor Yegana Aghamaliyeva from UNEC’s Design School delivered a speech on the topic “March 31 – An Unforgettable Bloody Page in the History of the Azerbaijani People,” and Lecturer Parvin Namazova from the Department of Design presented on “Heydar Aliyev and the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.”
At the conclusion of the event, newly accepted student members of the New Azerbaijan Party were presented with their membership certificates.
