Vice President of “Springer Nature” Visits UNEC
Aliaksandr Birukou, Vice President for Eastern Europe at Springer Nature, one of the world’s leading academic publishers, paid an official visit to the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
During the visit, Mr. Birukou held a meeting with the university’s academic staff and delivered a comprehensive presentation on academic journals. In his address, he provided in-depth information on the core activities of Springer Nature, the history of academic publishing, and the wide range of journals covering various disciplines.
He emphasized that Springer Nature serves as a platform that supports researchers in disseminating their scientific findings to the global academic community and plays a vital role in the advancement and spread of scientific knowledge. Mr. Birukou also elaborated on the procedures for manuscript submission, publication criteria, and offered insights into the Azerbaijani journals published by the company. Statistical data related to UNEC’s presence within the publisher’s portfolio was also shared.
It was noted that between the years 1815 and 2024, Springer Nature has published over 300,000 books, with an annual output of approximately 12,000 new titles across all academic disciplines.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which Mr. Birukou addressed questions from UNEC’s academic community.
