About the Laboratory
The Bloomberg Laboratory was established based on Decision No. 182 of the Scientific Council of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics on February 14, 2022. The laboratory operates under the “UNEC Lifelong Learning Center.”
Founded in 1981 in New York by Michael Bloomberg, Bloomberg L.P. remains a global leader in financial services, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. With over 19,000 employees and financial analysts across more than 120 countries, Bloomberg provides real-time insights into global events and their impact on financial markets. Through its proprietary terminals, the company offers users access to an extensive financial database.
Bloomberg has partnered with the Azerbaijan State University of Economics to introduce its terminals for the first time in the Caucasus region, making them accessible to the university’s students and staff. Currently, there are 12 terminals available, allowing users to benefit from Bloomberg’s services and earn the internationally recognized Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certificate free of charge. Notably, the certificate usually costs $150 for students and $250 for non-students.
Towards the end of the training, users will gain practical experience by building their portfolios in a simulation environment and conducting operations with securities and stocks. To obtain the certificate, the following modules must be completed:
