Registration Opens for the Project “Developing the Career and Leadership Potential of Young Women in the Renewable Energy Sector”

Within the framework of the project, the planned training sessions and educational study visit aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of female students and graduates studying renewable energy, empower them to become active participants in the sector, and contribute to increasing the number of women professionals in this field in the future.

Overall, the project will be implemented over a two-month period and will consist of four main stages:

  1. Training: 31 January – 1 February
  2. Educational study visit: 2 February
  3. Sustainability activities: February–March
  4. Final panel discussion: Late March

The training will be organized by Gender Hub Azerbaijan Public Union at ibis Baku City Hotel on 31 January (09:00–19:00) and 1 February (09:30–19:00). During the two-day training, discussions and practical sessions bringing together topics on renewable energy and climate change will be conducted with 25 female participants. In addition, the training will include public awareness components on combating domestic violence, available support hotlines, prevention of early marriage, women’s access to the labor market, and the right to education.

Following the training, an educational study visit will be conducted on 2 February. Through this visit, participants will gain practical, hands-on experience related to the operation and production of solar and wind systems, energy efficiency projects, and project management.

After completing the training and study visit, participants will be required to carry out awareness-raising activities within their own communities, contributing to the project’s sustainability objectives. Participants who successfully implement these activities will be awarded certificates and invited to the final panel discussion.

Participation Requirements:

  • Third- and fourth-year female undergraduate students studying in Baku or Ganja, as well as graduates (up to three years after graduation) in one of the following fields:
  1. Energy
  2. Ecology and engineering
  3. Industry and construction
  4. Architecture
  • Commitment to opposing discriminatory approaches that promote domestic violence, respecting diversity, and promoting equality within society;
  • Strong listening, public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Availability and active participation throughout the full project duration (2 months: February–March), with mandatory in-person participation during the two-day training (31 January–1 February) and the educational visit (2 February);
  • Implementation of post-training sustainability activities.

Note: Only candidates who successfully pass the registration stage will be invited to interviews. Interviews will be conducted in person for participants residing in Baku and online for participants from the regions.

For participants traveling from the regions, accommodation and transportation costs will be covered.
