FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN
In order to ensure the implementation of the decisions of the online meeting of the UNEC Scientific Council dated 31 May 2020, ESH-172 and the online meeting of 14 September 2020, ESH-173, on 19.10.2020, “Technology and design ”faculty was abolished and the faculty of “Digital economics” was established on its basis.

About faculty
The department of “The technology of food products” of the faculty has scientific cooperation with the famous high educational institutions of CIS: Kiev National University of Trade and Economics, Mogilev Food University, Kharkov Academy of Food Technology and Organization and Russian State Academy of Economics. And the department of Design cooperates with Gazi University of Turkey, Ege University, Kiev State University of Light Industry Technology and Azerbaijan Fashion Association . As well as the department of “Technological machines and field equipment” cooperates with the Institute of Mechanical Engineering of ANAS, Aegean University (Turkey), Moscow University of Technology and Design, St. Petersburg University of Technology and Design and other high educational universities.
Graduates of the faculty become engineers, technologists and designers. They can work in the catering system, resort trade enterprises, food industry, areas engaged in the study of the range and quality of food products, quality control laboratories, research laboratories and other fields. Each graduate of the design profession can work as an artist-designer, artist-modeler, designer and constructor in design bureaus, research laboratories, fashion houses, etc. Graduate students can also be engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities.

Since 2016, the specialty of Informatics of the Faculty of Informatics and Management has been assigned to this faculty.
The faculty of informatics and management was established in 1972 at Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy named after D.Bunyadzade under the name of General Economics. In 1988 it was renamed “Economics and Management of Production”, in 1992 – “Informatics and Management”.
During this period, the faculty trained specialists with higher education in the following specialties:
*Economic cybernetics;
*Economic informatics and AIS;
*Production economics and management;
*Information technologies in the world economy.
The faculty was headed by prof. G. Sadigov in 1972-1978, in 1978-1982 by Assist. Prof. S.Abdurrahmanov, in 1982-1992 by prof. B.Musayev, in 1992-2001 by Assist.prof. S.Abdurrahmanov, in 2001-2009 Assist.Prof. V.Ibrahimov, in 2009-2016, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. N.Mikayilov, in 2016-2020 by prof. V. Huseynov.
