UNEC Hosts the Second International Conference of Researchers in Economics and Social Sciences

The Azerbaijan State University of Economics has commenced the Second International Conference of Researchers in Economics and Social Sciences, ICRESS 2025, organised by the Faculty of Economics and Management and dedicated to the theme “Sustainable Development and the Innovation Economy.”

In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Elchin Eyvazov, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, provided a detailed overview of the event and conveyed his best wishes for the successful continuation of the conference. He noted that more than two hundred scholarly papers were submitted across nine thematic sections and that following a rigorous evaluation process, one hundred eighty five papers were accepted for publication. He also highlighted that contributions from the United States, China, Hungary, Italy, Turkiye and several other countries were included among thirty two foreign submissions featured in the conference proceedings.

Professor Rovnag Rzayev, UNEC Vice Rector for Science and Innovation, underscored the increasing importance of strengthening scientific research within the rapidly evolving global environment. He expressed confidence that the conference would contribute substantially to the advancement of international academic cooperation and commended the active engagement of all participants.

Following the opening speeches, a video presentation showcasing UNEC’s recent institutional achievements and strategic progress was presented to the international audience.

During the plenary session, distinguished scholars from a range of countries delivered keynote presentations addressing contemporary issues in economics and the social sciences.

Professor Monica Grai Fodor of Obuda University presented an analysis entitled “Consumer Assessment of Corporate Social Responsibility,” examining the influence of corporate social responsibility initiatives on consumer behaviour.

Professor Raya Karlibayeva of Tashkent State University of Economics delivered a report on “Resource Management within the Framework of ESG Economic Transformation,” focusing on mechanisms of resource allocation and governance in the context of sustainable development.

Professor Tatyana Tambovceva of Riga Technical University discussed “Expanding Industrial Symbiosis Opportunities within the Concrete Industry for a Circular Economy,” highlighting innovative approaches aimed at reducing environmental impact in the construction sector.

Associate Professor Fatih Hakan of Haji Bayram Veli University presented an evaluation of “Quantitative Achievements and Qualitative Sensitivities in the Azerbaijani Labour Market,” addressing gender equality issues through statistical analysis.

Professor Atilla Gokce delivered research findings on “The Dynamic Effects of Oil Prices and Oil Price Uncertainty on Economic Growth in Azerbaijan.”

In a separate presentation, Professor Atilla Gokce of Al Farabi Kazakh National University examined “The Role of Human Capital in the Development of Entrepreneurial Potential: ESG Principles, Startup Infrastructure and Digital Transformation,” offering an analytical perspective on contemporary economic development models.

Professor Xu Jing of Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics delivered a study entitled “The Spatio Temporal Relationship Between Farmland Fragmentation and System Resilience,” analysing the connection between structural changes in agriculture and environmental sustainability.

The conference continued its work with parallel thematic sessions.

ICRESS 2025 will remain in progress until the fifth of December.
