The event was attended by the Minister of Science and Education, Mr. Emin Amrullayev, the Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov, and the Director of the Zagatala Branch, Mr. Ragif Gasimov.
As part of the ceremony, the guests were first acquainted with the upgraded facilities in the dormitory.
It was noted that, following extensive renovation and reconstruction works, the dormitory’s capacity was increased from 73 to 155 students, and the premises were modernized to meet contemporary student needs. The two- and three-person rooms have been furnished to international standards, featuring high-quality furniture, essential household appliances, and climate control systems. All rooms are equipped with sanitary facilities and shower cabins that comply with high hygiene standards.
Two specially designed rooms have been allocated for students with disabilities, ensuring inclusive conditions.
All rooms are equipped with smart technologies. The first floor features a student lounge and reading hall, offering a comfortable environment for relaxation and study. Additionally, a modern laundry room and a first-aid facility, fully equipped with the necessary medical supplies, have been established.
The dormitory also houses a large dining hall and fully equipped kitchens on each floor to meet students’ daily needs.
Following the dormitory tour, the newly commissioned sports hall was introduced. It was emphasized that the facility is fully equipped to support students’ engagement in a healthy lifestyle. The gym includes six multifunctional rooms, with designated areas for basketball, volleyball, and fitness training.
The dormitory’s surrounding area has undergone major landscaping work, including the creation of green zones and the planting of various trees in harmony with the natural environment. Benches have also been installed to facilitate student leisure and social interaction.
To ensure safety, the dormitory has been equipped with a 24/7 surveillance and security monitoring system.
Subsequently, the newly established computer laboratory, examination hall, and reading rooms in the academic building of the Zagatala Branch were officially opened.
The ceremony concluded with a meeting held between the university’s leadership and the faculty members, during which the future development prospects of the Zagatala Branch were discussed.
