UNEC Student Ranks Among the World’s Top 16 Winners in an International Olympiad

Students of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) have successfully participated in the international mathematics competition International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC) 2025, organized by the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition.
Dozens of students studying Computer Science, Information Security, and Information Technologies at the Faculty of Digital Economy achieved strong results and were awarded international certificates.
In particular, Ariz Maharramli, a student of the Information Security program, ranked among the top 16 participants worldwide with the highest scores in the first stage of the competition.
It is worth noting that last year Ariz Maharramli identified a serious security vulnerability on the official website of NASA (landsat.gsfc.nasa.gov), promptly informed the agency’s security team, and received official acknowledgment and appreciation from NASA for his contribution.
