UNEC has established a new partnership with the business sector through a cooperation agreement with Baker Tilly Audit Azerbaijan JSC, the representative of the Baker Tilly International network in Azerbaijan and one of the country’s leading audit firms.

A delegation headed by Mr. Samir Valiyev, Founder and Managing Partner of “Baker Tilly Audit Azerbaijan,” visited UNEC for the signing of the memorandum of cooperation.

During the meeting, Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov, emphasized the importance of enhancing the effectiveness of university–industry collaboration. He also highlighted the innovations implemented at UNEC to strengthen relations with the business sector and informed the guests about the measures taken within the academic process to equip students with skills aligned with modern labor-market demands.

Expressing his satisfaction with collaborating with the university he once graduated from, Samir Valiyev highly appreciated the reforms carried out at UNEC in recent years and the preparedness of its graduates for the business environment. He noted that a significant proportion (46%) of employees currently working at “Baker Tilly” are UNEC graduates and emphasized that they consistently stand out for their knowledge, professionalism, innovative approach, and diligence. He added that working in the same team with UNEC graduates is both convenient and effective.

Both parties expressed confidence that the established cooperation would yield beneficial outcomes for both the university and the business community.

Following the discussions, the memorandum of cooperation was signed. The document outlines joint scientific and practical activities, experience exchange, and the implementation of various projects and events aimed at student development. As part of the cooperation, the organization of “Baker Tilly Week” and “CEO Talks” at UNEC, the establishment of the “Baker Tilly Auditorium” and the “Baker Tilly Student Group,” as well as the implementation of other joint initiatives, are planned. Additionally, meetings between UNEC alumni employed at the company and current students, as well as participation in career fairs, are among the key directions of the collaboration.
