The Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) has introduced the country\u2019s first interactive textbook titled \u201cCareer Planning.\u201d<\/p>\n
The presentation ceremony of the textbook, authored by faculty members of UNEC\u2019s Department of Career Planning and Development, was attended by representatives of the university\u2019s academic staff, professionals from other higher education institutions, and career specialists from governmental agencies.<\/p>\n
In his address, UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov expressed his appreciation to all contributors involved in the development of the Career Planning textbook, emphasizing that the department had achieved a significant academic milestone. He highlighted career planning as a priority strategic direction for UNEC and elaborated on the university\u2019s initiatives in this domain: \u201cAt UNEC, we established the Department of Career Planning and Development and, for the first time in the country, incorporated the courses \u2018Soft Skills,\u2019 \u2018Hard Skills,\u2019 and \u2018Career Planning\u2019 into our academic curricula. This year, for the first time, graduates will also receive a non-academic transcript that evaluates their soft skills.\u201d Furthermore, Professor Muradov noted that digitalizing the Career Planning textbook would significantly enhance its accessibility and effectiveness as an educational resource.<\/p>\n
The event featured remarks from UNEC\u2019s Vice-Rector for Digitalization and reviewer of the textbook, Associate Professor Ragif Gasimov, Head of Department at the State Employment Agency, Ali Gurbanli, and the textbook\u2019s authors\u2014Director of the Department of Career Planning and Development, Rashad Maharramov, Associate Professors Afag Huseyn and Nargiz Seyidzada. The speakers underscored the significance of the publication, emphasizing that Career Planning is the first textbook of its kind in the country. They noted that the textbook serves as a comprehensive guide, equipping students with theoretical knowledge, practical tools, and real-world insights essential for effective career planning and professional development. Moreover, they stressed that the textbook is not only instrumental in helping students navigate their career paths successfully but also serves as a valuable resource for anyone aspiring to achieve career growth.
