On April 23, the 4th International Conference titled\u00a0\u201cDigital Economy: Modern Challenges and Real Opportunities\u201d\u00a0commenced at UNEC.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h4>\r\n

The conference, organized by the Faculty of Digital Economy, began with participants laying flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, honoring his cherished memory.<\/p>\r\n

In his opening remarks, UNEC Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Professor Rovnag Rzayev, welcomed the participants and emphasized the relevance of the topic. He noted that digitalization has become a strategic priority for national development in the modern era, highlighting that information and innovative technologies are reshaping global economic relations, while artificial intelligence tools play a decisive role in this transformation. He also addressed the impact of digitalization on the education system and informed participants about UNEC\u2019s scientific achievements and its progress in international rankings.<\/p>\r\n

At the conference, Academician Ali Abbasov and Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Soltan Bayramov, spoke about the consistent and purposeful state policy implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of digitalization. It was noted that important decrees and strategic documents have been adopted under the leadership of the country, creating broad opportunities for the formation of a digital ecosystem and attracting investments to this sector.<\/p>\r\n

Speakers emphasized that Azerbaijan is among the countries with significant competitive advantages in terms of digital transformation. In particular, low energy costs, a strategic geographical location, and a developing digital human capital were highlighted as key factors increasing the country\u2019s investment attractiveness. It was also underlined that the establishment of free economic zones and specialized industrial parks further strengthens the investment environment and expands access opportunities for international companies.<\/p>\r\n

Corresponding member of ANAS and Director of the Institute of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence at Azerbaijan Technical University, Professor Ramiz Aliguliyev, stated in his speech that data has become a strategic resource in the modern era. He emphasized that data-driven decision-making plays a crucial role in enhancing efficiency across the economy, science, and governance.<\/p>\r\n

The conference continued online with presentations by professors from Romania, Hungary, and Turkiye.<\/p>\r\n

Subsequently, a panel discussion\u00a0titled\u00a0\u201cArtificial Intelligence and the Labor Market: New Professions, Skills, and Employment Models\u201d\u00a0was held, along with session presentations covering strategic trends in the digital economy and digital transformation in education.<\/p>\r\n

On April 24, within the framework of the conference, a panel discussion titled\u00a0\u201cArtificial Intelligence as a Catalyst: The Transformation from an Industrial Society to a Smart Society\u00a0-Ethical and Legal Framework\u201d\u00a0will be held, as well as sessions on cybersecurity, green economy, e-commerce, and digital marketing strategies. The conference will feature speakers from Turkiye, Romania, Hungary, Georgia, Poland, and India, as well as representatives of leading universities and both public and private sector organizations in the country.<\/p>\r\n
