Academic Board\u2019s first meeting has taken place on April 29 at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).<\/p>\n
The Education Minister\u2019s decree on the new content of the Academic Board was delivered. Afterwards the proposal on creating commissions in the composition of the Academic Board was made. The Commissions are to carry out activity on different directions.<\/p>\n
Head of the Department \u201cMathematics\u201d, Professor Mustafa Garayev was awarded the Honorary Diploma \u201cfor his contributions to the development of science and education in preparation of economic personnel\u201d at Azerbaijan State University of Economics\u201d.<\/p>\n
Head of the Center for Education and Innovations, Professor Sakit Yagubov was made a report on \u201cScientific Activity of Azerbaijan State University of Economics in 2015\u201d. Board members assessed the results of scientific activity as satisfactory.<\/p>\n
Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov highlighted that UNEC was granted 309 thousand manats for scientific activity, and the University\u2019s target is to increase these amount twice this year.<\/p>\n
The Differential Salary System of UNEC has increased the academic staff\u2019s interest in scientific activity.<\/p>\n
The Academic Board\u2019s session went on with discussions. The Board Members suggested to appoint young scholar to run the Student Scientific Society. To improve the activities of the Council of Young Scholars was also recommended in the session.<\/p>\n
Head of the Department \u201cFinance and Financial Institutions\u201d Avaz Alakbarov proposed to establish \u201cProfessors\u2019 Club\u201d at UNEC. The proposal was evaluated by the members in affirmative.<\/p>\n
Improving control to the quality of dissertations was widely discussed within the session. It was decided to expertise the research papers before they are initially discussed at the departments.<\/p>\n
The MBA Department was abolished and UNEC Business Center has been established in its database within the meeting. The structure of the Center for Distance, Part- time and Supplementary Education was also changed. The Supplementary education issues were decomposed from the body and the decision on establishing the Center for Supplementary Education and the Center for Distance and Part- time Education was made.<\/p>\n
The Board members made amendments on the statue of the \u201cStudent Rector\u201d elections. Furthermore, the candidates will be defined inside the faculty. Afterwards, \u201cStudent Rector\u201d will be elected by an open ballot.<\/p>\n
Head of the Department of Design Lale Mammadova was appointed the Scientific Council of the Commission on Elections of the Heads of Departments and Deans to the Schools within the session.<\/p>\n
