New academic year has started at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on September 15.<\/p>\n
3256 undergraduate and 1166 graduate students were admitted to the biggest economy- oriented university of the region which implements the development of cadres in 22 majors in 9 Faculties. A serious growth in the number of enrolled students to UNEC with high points was achieved in compare with previous years. Thus, 291 entrants with 600 points and further have chosen UNEC this year. This figure was 93 in 2014\/2015 academic year, 49 in 2013\/2014. There are 6 Presidential scholars among the students enrolled to UNEC in a new academic year.<\/p>\n
Meeting with freshmen on the \u201cKnowledge Day\u201d the School Deans wished them success in their education, gave their recommendations and spoke about the innovations applied at the university. Students were informed that the application of the Electronic University Model was launched in all academic buildings of the university in a new academic building. The system\u2019s database includes the information about the students, teaching staff and alumni, schedules, subject groups, calendar- thematic plans of disciplines and the students\u2019 individual syllabuses. Students\u2019 and teachers\u2019 private cabinets and examination system divisions were established within the system. Electronic stands with access to the system were installed in the lecture rooms. The teaching staff will make their notes on students\u2019 attendance, seminar scores, titles of the classes and other records entering the e- register.<\/p>\n
