The 3rd International Forum of Foreign Language Teachers Successfully Concludes
The 3rd International Forum of Foreign Language Teachers, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), has successfully concluded.
Organized by the Department of Foreign Languages at UNEC, the forum was held under the theme “Language Skills and Economic Opportunities: Preparing Students for the Global Market.” The event brought together more than 300 local and international language experts, educators, and representatives of prominent international organizations.
During the opening ceremony, speakers highlighted the reforms carried out in foreign language education at UNEC, the role of language proficiency in students’ integration into the global labor market, and the university’s internationally-oriented initiatives in this direction. They emphasized the opportunities created by language competence and noted that the forum provided a valuable platform for the application of modern teaching methods and the exchange of experience, while also strengthening collaboration between local and international specialists.
Throughout the forum, seminars and sessions were held on key topics such as modern language teaching methodologies, the integration of artificial intelligence into the educational process, assessment approaches, and more. Educators from Beijing Foreign Studies University, the Confucius Institute, the European Azerbaijan School, and leading higher education institutions in Azerbaijan delivered presentations and shared their professional insights.
On the second day of the event, 25 workshops and training sessions covering language skills were organized with the participation of 260 attendees. Practical workshops conducted by internationally certified trainers from the British Council and UNEC were met with great interest. Participants included instructors and students from various universities, language centers, as well as secondary and vocational education institutions.
The 3rd International Forum of Foreign Language Teachers made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary approaches in language education in Azerbaijan and played a key role in promoting international experience and strengthening global cooperation in this field.
