1 year has passed since Suleyman Garayev’s martyrdom
October 7 is the memorial day of Süleyman Garayev, a graduate of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), martyr of the Patriotic War, who rose to the height of martyrdom for the freedom of Karabakh.
On the occasion of the memorial day of Martyr Suleyman Garayev, a meeting was held with family members in the village of Galagayin, Sabirabad region. Deputy Dean of UNEC Finance and Accounting Faculty Azer Garayev and Chairman of Student Trade Union Committee Rufat Suleymanli also participated in the meeting.
Later, the UNEC collective paid tribute to the dear memory of the martyr and arranged flowers in front of his grave.
Suleyman was born on July 3, 1995 in Galagayin village of Sabirabad district. In 2001-2012, he studied at the secondary school named after Mirza Alakbar Sabir of Sabirabad district. In 2012, he was admitted to the accounting and auditing faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). After completing his higher education in 2016, he was called up for military service. In 2016-2017, he served in active military service as a sniper in Shahbuz district of Nakhchivan. On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan joined the Patriotic War launched by the Armed Forces for the liberation of territories under the occupation of Armenia.
On October 7, he fought heroically for the freedom of Agdam region and rose to the peak of Martyrdom. He was buried in the village of Galagayin, Sabirabad district, where he was born. After his death, according to the order of the President, he was awarded the “For the Fatherland” medal.
