The Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov met with the students distinguished with special achievements at UNEC

On 9 September the Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov met with the students distinguished with special achievements at Azerbaijan State University of Economics. Students representing not only Baku, but also other regions and towns of our country such as Ganja, Absheron, Barda, Gabala, Jabrayil, Zaqatala and Gubadli took part in the meeting.

Mikayil Jabbarov recommended to study constantly to become quality personnel who loves his/her work and profession congratulating them with the name of student they gained. In addition, the Minister urged them to take part in cultural life of the university they get educated and to improve their knowledge and skills. Drawing attention to the improvement of academic performance in our country in the past two years Mikayil Jabbarov announced the average score for admission to higher education institutions to be increased significantly.

The Minister responded the students’ questions and exchanged views with them during the meeting. Ibrahim Ahmadov who enrolled “ADA” University with 700 points and finished the secondary school with honors and was the bronze prize winner of the Republic Mathematics Olympiad shared his view about the curriculum applied in the secondary schools. Azerbaijan Medical University’s freshman with 700 points Nurlan Majidov and the silverprize winner of the competition on Biology and the undergraduate student with 695 points Narmin Guluzade expressed their view on education abroad. The participant of the competition “Future’s Scholars” Jamil Imranov’s questions on SABAH Groups were responded during the meeting.

Afterwards Mikayil Jabbarov spoke about the prospects of the education in our country delivering the information about the State Program on Education Abroad. Noting the creation of SABAH Groups to be an important step in the way taken forward the Minister emphasized the innovation environment in the higher education institutions to be expanded in the near future within the framework of international projects.

Mikayil Jabbarov recommended the students to show the position of active citizenship regardless of studying in our country of abroad.

Winner of the Republic- wide Competition on Biology Zaur Velizade who finished the secondary school with honors in Mingechevir asked question about the rating of the higher schools in the labor market and the winner of the Chemical Olympiad Sergey Styopin who finished the lyceum named after the Academician Zarifa Aliyeva with honors and entered the university with 644 points asked about the Presidential Scholarship. The Minister responded the students’ questions in detail and commented on the issues that concern them. Mikayil Jabbarov spoke about the opportunities created for the students and urged each student to get their chance during the meeting.
