An important contribution for those interested in financial economics: the book “Financial Economics: Banking, Insurance, Capital Market and Stock Exchange” was published
“Financial economics: banking, insurance, capital market and stock exchange (desktop reference book for financial experts)” authored by the academic staff of UNEC has been published.
The professor of UNEC Zahid Mammadov and associate professor Aydın Huseynov are co-authors of the book, the scientific editor of the book is the rector, professor Adalat Muradov, and the advisor is Zakir Nuriyev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rabitabank.
The book contains scientifically based information about the current situation and prospects of the modern and competitive Azerbaijani financial industry in accordance with international standards. The methodological and theoretical basis of the book is the provisions of economic theory, financial and credit theory, financial law, normative documents, and instructions regulating the activities of financial and banking institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The book consists of 5 chapters dealing with the topics of “Monetary economy”, “Financial institutions, markets and instruments”, “Banking”, “Insurance business”, “Bank-insurance”, and “Capital markets and stock exchange activity”. Most of the topics were developed and studied for the first time in economic literature in Azerbaijan.
The book, distinguished by its originality, is intended for a wide readership, especially for specialists, experts, teachers, students, and researchers engaged in the field of finance and banking. The obtained results are the first informative overview publication in the economic science of finance and banking of Azerbaijan. In the process of preparing the topics of the book, the international experience was used, and the explanatory interpretation of the concepts was given based on the experience of the modern Azerbaijani banking system.
