Students of School No. 42 Visit UNEC
At the initiative and under the organization of Associate Professor Flora Kashieva from the “Finance and Audit” Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), 11th-grade students from Nasimi District’s Ilgar Abdilhasanov School No. 42 participated in the “One Day at UNEC” project.
The visit commenced with the students paying tribute to the memory of Ilgar Abdilhasanov, a martyred graduate of UNEC, whose name is borne by their school. They laid flowers at the Memorial Monument dedicated to his honor and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the martyrs.
Following this solemn gesture, the students were welcomed by Professor Avaz Alakbarov, Head of the “Finance and Audit” Department, Associate Professor Hafiz Hajiyev, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Aytaj Ibrahimova, a specialist from the External Center, and Samaya Shirinova, a representative of the Public Relations Department. During the session, the students were provided with extensive information about the university.
The students were briefed on UNEC’s faculties, academic programs, full-time and part-time education options, branch campuses, the education management system, teaching and examination processes, scholarship opportunities, student exchange initiatives, dual diploma programs, as well as UDID and MINOR programs. Furthermore, the services offered by the “One-Stop Shop,” the Library and Information Center, student organizations, the Creativity Center, and the Sports Club were highlighted.
As part of their visit, the students toured UNEC’s External Center, the 24/7 Library, study halls, the Bloomberg Laboratory, and lecture auditoriums.
The visit concluded with an interactive session where students’ questions were addressed, and their interests were thoroughly explored.
