UNEC employees translate the book “Economic Development” published by Pearson Publishing house
The book “Economic Development” published by the prestigious Pearson Publishing House, written by Michael Todaro and Stephen Smith, professors of New York and George Washington universities has been translated by UNEC employees.
The book, whose project leader and scientific editor is Associate Professor Fariz Ahmadov, the director of UNEC CIMD, studies economic development and reveals the general characteristics of developing countries. Potential models for other countries that have completed the transformation in the direction of changing into developed economies were also considered in the book.
In the book, ideas and findings on the theoretical and empirical basis of development economics are also presented to the readers. Open questions have been actively debated in development economics, and the text presents contested theories and interpretations of the evidence with 3 objectives.
The books translated with the support of SOCAR were donated to the library fund of UNEC.
