The “Independence Day” marked at UNEC
Event dedicated to October 18- the State Independence Day was held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
Congratulating the employees on the occasion of this notable day UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov said the most historical achievement gained by Azerbaijan people is its independence. Our people faced with the threat of losing its independence after its gaining. However, as a result of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s political experience who returned to power at the insistence of the people, we were able to preserve this independence. Namely the National Leader’s rich political experience, high management skills and inexhaustible love to his Motherland rescued Azerbaijan’s State Independence from the danger. The Republic of Azerbaijan began to develop on a solid foundation. The National Leader Heydar Aliyev started to work on giant state-building with the logic of to protect the independence is harder than to gain it. As a result of this, Azerbaijan became one of the powerful countries of the world both politically and economically.
The economic and political mainstays of our independence are strengthening, the main factors that determine the fate of independence is preserved and developed. Equal attention is paid to the intensification of the statehood, economic development and the preservation of the national and moral values. Today, our independence is being protected by the Great Leader’s worthy successor, our honorable President Ilham Aliyev.
Rector stressed that a prominent economist, academician Ziyad Samadzade was witness and the participant of the process of achieving the independence. He noted that the Constitutional Act on Independence was adopted on October 18 1991during the Supreme Soviet’s session under his chairmanship.
Making a speech, the academician Ziyad Samadzade delivered the information about the history of independence. He said that in the early years of independence our country had faced many difficulties. Purposeful steps by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev who returned to power at the people’s request for the second time in 1993, became the most reliable foundation for the current success of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan’s economic independence concept was developed under his leadership. The economic potential of the country began to grow rapidly and the State Oil Fund was established. Today our country has become the region’s most powerful state.
Afterwards, the academician pointed that to maintain our independence we should increase the economic strength in future; it is an important task for the economist scientists.
