Saida Khalil earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) between 2014 and 2018. During her undergraduate years, she was a member of the Faculty Bureau of the Student Trade Union, placed second in the I Science Slime competition, and participated in several academic conferences organized by the Student Scientific Society, winning various awards. From 2018 to 2020, she pursued a Master’s degree in Banking at the International School of Economics and Management at UNEC. During her Master’s studies, she was a member of the organizing committee for the I and II International Scientific Conference on Economics and Management, while also presenting scientific papers. She participated in the DAAD-funded “EE-KEY-AZ Entrepreneurship Education: A Key to Job Creation and Employability in Azerbaijan” training program and visited Siegen University in Germany for academic purposes. As a winner of the Erasmus+ scholarship program, she studied at ISAG-European Business School in Porto, Portugal. During her student years, she also participated in an internship program at the State Audit Chamber of the Republic of Azerbaijan, working in the Department of State Revenues and Economic Sectors Audit. She defended her dissertation on “Bank Loans as a Source of Investment for the Development of Entrepreneurship” and graduated with honors.
Since 2021, Saida has been pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics at the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey, as a recipient of the Türkiye Scholarships program. In October 2024, as a winner of the Erasmus+ project, she presented her research on “Development Strategy Proposal for Azerbaijan within the Framework of Circular Economy” to prominent professors in the field of circular economy at Sapienza University in Italy. In December 2024, she was accepted to present at the conference “Priority Directions for Ensuring Sustainable Economic Growth in the Region” at Urganch Ranch Technology University in Uzbekistan. Additionally, she is a winner of the Orhun Exchange Program.
Since February 2023, Saida has been working as a lecturer in the Department of Economics and Business at UNEC. Since June 2023, she has also been serving as the head of the UNEC Bloomberg Financial Laboratory, where she has organized several financial market training sessions for students and faculty. Under her leadership, the laboratory’s team participated in Bloomberg’s Global Trade Challenge, where they ranked 32nd out of 2,453 teams globally and 2nd in the region. She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters.
