The event, hosted by Sunway University, brought together more than 250 representatives from 21 countries across Southeast Asia.
UNEC was represented at the forum by a broad delegation. The delegation included Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Huseyn Hasanov, Assistant to the Rector Shamil Aliyev, Director of the Center for Part-Time and Continuing Education Sabuhi Tanriverdiyev, Head of the Project Management Department Gultaj Tahirli and Head of the Strategic Development Department Bahlul Aliyev.
As an honorary guest of the forum, Professor Adalat Muradov delivered remarks in two separate sessions. On the second day of the event, he took part as a speaker and panelist in the discussion titled “From Chalkboards to Chatbots – What’s Next for Education?” alongside scholars from Malaysia, the Philippines and India. The panel addressed key issues such as the post-digital-transformation development of universities, the impact of artificial intelligence on higher education, the evolving role of universities in an era of global mobility and the main elements of the higher education model of the future.
Within the framework of the forum, Professor Muradov also delivered a comprehensive presentation on UNEC’s activities, strategic goals and recent achievements. The presentation was met with significant interest by participants from Southeast Asian countries.
It should be noted that UNEC is the first university from the South Caucasus to participate in an event of this scale in a rapidly developing and geographically distant region such as Southeast Asia.
