The “Leading Teacher-Leading University” Project of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) is going on. Registration of the teachers who want to participate in the Project is in progress. Teachers confirm their participation in the project filling the relevant information in the online application form. The commission will announce the list of participants after evaluating the submitted essays. Participation in the competition will be conducted on a voluntary basis.
Note that the “Leading Teacher-Leading University” Project has been launched on October 1st.The main purpose of the Project is to improve UNEC academic staff’s professionalism ability and to increase their interest in scientific research, personal development, social activity and business relations.
According to the Project, the competition is to be held on 7 criteria- “Leading teacher- Innovative teacher”, “Leading teacher- Professional teacher”, “Leading teacher- Teacher Researcher”, “Leading teacher- Favorite teacher”, “Leading teacher- Enthusiastic teacher”, “Leading teacher- Teacher Inventor”, “Leading teacher- Teacher Self- developer”.
The assessment on “Leader teacher- Innovative teacher” and “Leader teacher- Enthusiastic teacher” will be define by the commission consisting of 5 people. They will carry out assessment of the instructor who participates on criteria of the contest, attending at his/her 2 lectures and 2 seminars without prior notice. In case when the teachers’ scores showed the best result will be the same, the “Student Satisfaction Survey” in Differential Salary System will be based on.
The assessment criteria of the “Leader teacher- Innovative teacher” will be conducted within the 10-point system for the level of usage of innovative teaching methods, benefitting of the Electronic University Model and teaching resources. The criterion of “Leader teacher- Enthusiastic teacher” will be evaluated for the number of initiatives made by the instructor for the improvement of teaching process, development of business and public relations, as well as the sport and social projects.
The other 5 criteria will be carried out on the basis of the results of the relevant sections of Differential Salary System which performs the academic staff’s performance related assessment.
Winner teachers will be awarded in the end of the project. According to the project the “Leading Teachers” selected on the various nominations will get a chance of visiting the prestigious world universities within 7 days.
