The Scientific- practical Conference on “G20: Priorities of Turkey’s Chairmanship and Azerbaijan’s new Cooperation Opportunities” was held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics. Ambassador Ismayil Alper Joshgun, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Central Bank Mehmet Yorukoghlu, Public Dept Management Agency Director of the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan Razim Veliyev, Monetary Policy Department Director of the Central Bank Azer Alesgerov and other guests participated in the event organized by the Turkish Embassy to Azerbaijan.
Making a speech during the conference, ASUE Rector, Dr Adalat Muradov noted that, Azerbaijan’s participation in the events of the “Great Twenty” is of special significance after Turkey got the status of Chairmanship of the summit “G20”. The summit is a very important event for the solution of both regional and international problems. A. Muradov stressed that, the economy of the countries included into the “Great Twenty” forms approximately 80% of the world trade. Namely, these country’s proposals are contributing to the stability of the global economy prior to the problem faced by the world economy and to overcome differences. Our country has gained great achievements in the global level as a result of the realization of strategy established by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the economic policy implemented by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The world trade organizations’ economic assessment can be obvious evidence to this. He emphasized that, the global level projects realized in our country are characterizing Azerbaijan to have a unique economic model. Besides participating in the kind of events Azerbaijan will be able to study the experience of the countries included into the “Great Twenty” and draw its own national economic development model to the attention of the summit participants.
Ambassador Ismayil Alper Joshgun noted that, Azerbaijan’s invitation to summit characterizes the cooperation of our country with Turkey to be of high level.
Deputy Chairman of Turkish Central Bank Mehmet Yorukoghlu drew the participants’ attention to the monetary credit policy of his country. He pointed that, the main duty of the World Central Banks is to keep in control the inflation and defilation aspects. Price stability was reported as the main condition for being regulated the level of inflation. Noting Turkey’s inflation level as fluctuating dynamic, speaker regarded the factor as risky for entrepreneurship. Mehmet Yorukoghlu underlined that, price volatility have an impact on Central Banks’ monetary policy.
Stressing to the importance of participating in the event for our country, Public Dept Management Agency Director of the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan Razim Veliyev noted to the advantage of listening suggestions and a wide range view on economy.
Monetary Policy Department Director of the Central Bank Azer Alesgerov made a speech on “Global Economic Processes and Azerbaijan’s Economy”.
Afterwards, guests invited to ASUE responded the teaching and student staffs’ questions on expanding cooperation between the two countries, monetary and credit system and Azerbaijan’s opportunities in the summit “G20” and made discussions.
