UNEC students have been awarded the final stage of the CFA Institute’s annual “CFA Institute Research Challenge” international competition which will be held every year in the Russian capital, Moscow.
UNEC team was represented by IV year students of the International School of Economics (ISE) Ruslan Akhundzade, Togrul Hasanov and IV year students of SABAH Finance faculty Mirshahin Aghayev and Ilkin Sultanov.
This year 31 teams from Russia, Azerbaijan and Belarus competed in this contest. Participants analyzed economy of the country and the financial status and market of “Norilsk Nickel” company where it is operating in. Conducting an assessment they made the company’s report. Six teams presenting successful reports have won the right to participate in the final stage which will be held in Moscow.
According to the terms of the competition, two out of the 6 teams which ones are going to perform in Moscow will compete in the regional finals in Zurich, and the successful teams in the regional finals will have a chance to qualify for the global final in the United States.
The competition was led by Director of the International School of Economics Agil Azizov and senior analyst for investment at Pasha Investments, Elnur Badalov.
It should be noted that UNEC is the only team from Azerbaijan to get regional finals.
