Born on September 15, 1965, in Baku, Azerbaijan, is a distinguished scholar in the field of geography.
She completed her secondary education in 1982 at School No. 20 in Baku.
In the same year, she was admitted to the Faculty of Geology and Geography at Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University), from which she graduated in 1987 with a degree in Geography and Teaching.
Following her graduation, Dr. Maharramova began her professional career at the Scientific Research Institute under the Azerbaijan State Planning Committee, where she held positions including Senior Laboratory Assistant and Junior Researcher.

Since 2002, she has been associated with the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), initially serving as a Senior Laboratory Assistant in the Department of “Environmental Protection and Economics.” She was appointed as a Lecturer on February 2, 2011, and since February 1, 2013, she has been working as a Senior Lecturer in a part-time capacity (0.5 FTE) in the same department.
On January 24, 2008, Dr. Maharramova successfully defended her dissertation titled “The Impact of Destructive Hydrometeorological Events in Azerbaijan” at the Institute of Geography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, under the supervision of Academician B. Budagov.
On February 10, 2009, the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan conferred upon her the academic degree of Candidate of Geographical Sciences (Ph.D.) through Protocol No. 07.
