Graduation Day is held at UNEC: about 5,300 students gain the title of graduate
Graduation Day 2024 has been held at UNEC solemnly.
Along with the university administration, the academic staff, the graduates and the parents, the Graduate Day held in Baku Crystal Hall was attended by the Honorary graduates of UNEC, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, other state officials, members of parliament, and public representatives.
The National Anthem was played at the event, and then members of the Scientific Council were invited to the stage.
Speaking at the opening speech, Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov, , noted that the students of Zagata branch also participated for the first time on this year’s graduation day and congratulated all the graduates: “Dear graduates, today you are graduating with great joy and pride. I am sure that with the knowledge and skills you gained at the university, you will contribute to the bright future of the economic development of Azerbaijan. This certainty is based on the youth policy defined by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, which today President Ilham Aliyev continues with great sensitivity, and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva’s constant attention and concern for education. In this way, as the UNEC family, we will continue to support you.”
The rector said that 5,264 students graduated from UNEC this year, 3,659 of them with bachelor’s degrees and 1,605 master’s degrees. He pointed out that 6 of them are the first graduates of the Internal Two Diploma Program of the University, which was started 4 years ago.
Honorary graduate of UNEC, Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov congratulated the graduates and called them the first graduates of the country that fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty. Saying that he graduated from the University of Economics 20 years ago, the minister called his studentship the most valuable days of his life. The minister advised young people to always work on themselves, increase their level of professionalism and do what they love. He emphasized that the future development of the country depends on educated and skilled young people.
After the speech, Rector Adalat Muradov presented Majnun Mammadov, an honorary graduate of UNEC, with a bachelor’s diploma supplement with all grades “Excellent”.
On the Graduation Day, the first graduates of UNEC’s University Internal Two Diploma Program were also invited to the stage. Gifts were presented to the first graduates of the program.
International School of Economics (ISE) student Subhan Alizadeh, who graduated from UNEC with the highest GPA (99.33) at the bachelor’s level, gave a speech and expressed his gratitude to his parents, teachers and fellow students who supported him during these years.
After the graduation ceremony, the flag of UNEC was presented to the student who finished the III course with the highest GPA.
After the traditional and exciting “hat toss” ceremony, the graduation day continued with popular songs performed by folk artist Aygün Kazimova and pieces of music by famous DJs, giving the graduates joyful and exciting moments.
