Huseyn Hasanov was born in Baku in 1989.
He obtained his Bachelor’s degree (with distinction) in “Tourism and Management” from the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, Austria, during the years 2007-2010. He further pursued a Master’s degree in the same field from 2012 to 2015.
With over 12 years of experience, he has held leadership positions in both international and domestic tourism enterprises, as well as in the organization of state-level events. From 2017 to 2019, he served as Vice Dean and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at the Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University. During 2018-2021, he was the Head of the Education and Training Sector within the Tourism Policy and Strategy Department at the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this role, he managed the strategic coordination of various higher and secondary educational institutions and led educational projects in collaboration with several international organizations, private enterprises, and government entities.

Since 2016, he has been actively involved in teaching, delivering courses in tourism, marketing, and management in English, while also supervising student research projects.
On December 14, 2021, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Huseyn Hasanov was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics.
In September 2021, he joined the UNEC as a lecturer in the Department of “International Economics (English-language program)” and was appointed Head of the Quality Assurance Department in February 2022.
As of October 18, 2024, he has been serving as Vice Rector for International Relations and Programs.
He specializes in drafting and implementing strategic action plans for quality assurance and international collaboration in higher education institutions, focusing on international and local institutional and program accreditations, as well as dual degree programs.
