PhD, Assoc. Prof., Yusif Farzaliyev
Was born on December 19, 1958, in the “Shafag” settlement of the Beylagan district (formerly Jdanov) into an intellectual family.
In 1976, he graduated with distinction from Jdanov City Secondary School No. 1. In 1977, he was admitted to the Kharkiv Higher Military Aviation Fighter Pilots School in the USSR, an institution specializing in the training of pilot-cosmonauts. In 1980, due to health reasons, he was granted an academic exemption and, by the order of the USSR Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, was admitted without examinations to the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University).
In 1985, he graduated with distinction and was assigned to the Reliability Laboratory at the I.G. Yesman Scientific Research Institute of Energy (currently the Azerbaijan Scientific Research and Project Exploration Energy Institute, AzET & LAEI) as an engineer. Over the years, he held various positions in the institute, including senior engineer, leading engineer, junior researcher, researcher, and senior researcher.
In 2008, he defended his dissertation on the topic “Accurate and Reliable Calculation of the Individual Reliability Indicators of Power System Equipment” and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Sciences. On February 1, 2013, he was appointed head of the “Information Technologies and Innovation” division within the Technical Department of AzET & LAEI.
In 2016, the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan conferred upon him the academic title of Associate Professor. Since 2010, he has delivered lectures on computer sciences to the operators and engineering staff of “Azerenerji” JSC at the AzET & LAEI Training Center. From 2015 to 2018, he served as a part-time associate professor at Baku State University, teaching courses in computer sciences and computer engineering. He is recognized as the creator of four major information systems based on the PARADOX database management system platform in Azerbaijan.
Since 2018, he has been employed as a part-time associate professor at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). On February 23, 2024, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Automated Management of the Operational Reliability of Power System Equipment” before the ED 2.04 Dissertation Council, operating under Azerbaijan Technical University, earning the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
He is the author and co-author of approximately 100 scientific publications, including contributions to leading international platforms: three publications (one article and two conference materials) in the Web of Science Core Collection, eight in SCOPUS, and one in ZentralBlatt. His H-index, as of 2014, is 6, and as of 2019, is 4.
Yusif Farzaliyev is married and has two children.
