Department for Coordination and Organization of the work of Research Centers initially operated as a structural unit of  Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) within the department for Organization and Management of Scientific Activities (DOMSA). The department was established on the recommendation of the director of  DOMSA  and by the order of the rector of UNEC dated 828/3/2018.

In order to increase the efficiency of research, taking into account the role of research centers and laboratories in the transformation of UNEC into a research university the  section  of Coordination and Organization of the Work of Research Centers of the department of Organization and Management of Scientific Activity was removed from the department on 15.09.2020 and established as an independent structural unit.

Supervision of the work of research centers and laboratories operating at UNEC is entrusted to the department of Coordination and Organization of the Work of Research Centers.

THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE DEPARTMENT:

Coordination and organization of  the activities of research centers at the University;
Increasing the level of research work carried out at the university and increasing the research activity of the academic staff;
To expand scientific cooperation with relevant organizations of a number of universities around the world, to achieve the application of modern scientific practices at the university;
Involvement of educated youth in research centers;
Increasing the intensity and number of publication of the results of research conducted by research centers in international journals.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

Coordinating, organizing and supporting the work of research centers established at the university;

To study the experience of organizing and conducting scientific research, to establish contacts with scientific research institutions of the Republic and foreign countries and to carry out scientific exchanges;

To participate in joint research programs, grants and projects with research centers operating in the universities of the Republic and foreign countries;

To regularly inform the heads of research centers with the decisions and instructions given by the university administration;

To acquaint the teaching staff with the information about the planned scientific events and to organize the participation of the staff in these scientific events;

To collect and submit to the university administration proposals on changing the scientific directions and names of research centers, creation and abolition of new research centers (laboratories), appointment of new heads and members of the center.
