The V International Scientific Conference of Researchers in the Field of Economics and Management will be held on the theme “Economic Results of a Century”
In the direction of formation and improvement of science and educational environment, not only the teaching process of education but also research is of great importance.
The positive impact of the research conducted by higher education institutions and various research centers in a country’s education system on many fields, especially for economy, is one of the main factors, which is recognized worldwide. The transformation of information technologies, artificial intelligence, and approaches to education as well as the transformation of innovations to all countries is an important reality in the contemporary world. There is a serious need for scientific-academic events in Azerbaijan in order to implement the goals, such as the development of the education system, improvement of the quality of research, expansion of relations with leading institutions of the international educational arena, and exchange of ideas and information, that fundamentally important for the country. In addition to supporting the improvement of educational research environment, the organization of those kinds of events, which have a positive effect on the educational image of our country, based on international experience and qualifications, is one of the main priorities.
It is an undeniable fact that National Leader Heydar Aliyev made a great contribution to the formation and development of independent Azerbaijan’s economy and educational sphere. The ideas regarding educaiton and economics of the Great Leader, who paid special attention to education, were adopted by our higher education institutions that gave a great impetus to the development in this direction. The yar of 2023 was declared “Heydar Aliyev Year” on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader’s birth by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Therefore, organization of such an international scientific Conference that will make great contributions to the science and education of our country within the framework of this remarkable year is of great importance in terms of presenting and discussing the results of the invaluable work done by the Great Leader, who dedicated his life to the people of Azerbaijan and its independence. As a result, the “V International Scientific Conference of Economics and Management Researchers” will be held under the joint organization of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Heydar Aliyev Center, UNEC International Center for Graduate Education (BMDM), and Regional Development Public Union (RIIB). The Conference, which is planned to be held on June 22-25, 2023, will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev on the topic “Economic Conssequences of A Century”.
The aforementioned Conference has been successfully organized four times in different topics and themes previously and has made unique contributions to the science and education system of Azerbaijan. In total, around 1500 researchers from more than 50 different countries participated in the Conference with their scientific articles and various publication opportunities have been created for these research papers selected by the scientific committee of the Conference, which met the quality standards. Thus far, the Conference has published the “Book of Conference Abstracts” and “Book of Conference Full-Text Papers” and uploaded their electronic versions on the official website of the Conference. Simultaneously, the research works, distinguished for their higher quality by the scientific committee within the framework of the III and IV Conferences, were published and indexed as a special issue in an international scientific journal indexed in the leading academic platforms. Additionally, all the scientific publications created within the framework of the Conference are indexed in various prestigious universities and other international libraries.
In the 4th Conference held in 2022, several books, entitled as “Business Environment and Development of Small and Medium Businesses in Karabakh”, “The Role of Investments in the Economic Development of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur”, and “Evaluation of the Economic Potential of Karabagh and Eastern Zangezur”, were published in order to contribute to the research related to the economy of our liberated territories and form a source that will guide researchers in this direction.
The Conference was also enriched with not only scientific reports and publications but also various scientific events during the Conference days. At the opening ceremonies of the Conference, several plenary sessions have been organized with the participation of local and foreign specialists, researchers, and professors, as well as the speeches of the heads of various states and private institutions. In addition, around 30 workshops, broadcasted live on the social networks, were conducted with the participation of experts from various countries, as well as representatives of the prestigious organizations such as the UN, World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, including prestigious universities and state and private institutions. In these workshops, a total of 120 local and foreign experts had a chance to share their views with researchers on the issues associated with the topics and the themes of the Conference.
The Conference, which is planned to be held for the fifth time on June 22-25, 2023, will be an event distinguished by its academic and scientific richness. On June 22, in the first half of the day, an opening ceremony will be held with the participation of the heads of state and private institutions, local and foreign guests while at the same time, in the second half of the day, a workshop will be organized for the international arena with the participation of researchers from the world’s leading higher education institutions. On the second day of the Conference, the “Green Day” will be held on the topic of “Green Economy and Green Development” with the participation of experts of local state and private institutions, experts from international organizations and professors from foreign universities. At the event, speeches will be heard on the topic of the Conference, including but not limited to the green investments, green development, green energy, recycling, and green consumption. While the questions of the participants will be answered, the results and proposals of the Conference will be presented for not Azerbaijan and the world.
Furthermore, online presentation sessions will also be held on the third and fourth days of the Conference. It is estimated that more than 500 researchers from nearly 100 countries will present their research in four different languages (Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, and Russian) in nearly 100 lecture sessions under the leadership of section chairs consisting of professors and teachers. The research works selected by the scientific committee from the presented research will be published as a special issue in international scientific journals that will also be published and indexed in the world’s leading academic platforms. After the Conference, the scientific works of the researchers who presented their speech in the lecture sessions will be published online as the “Book of Conference Full-Text Papers” with an international ISBN number and will be posted on the official website of the Conference.
Meantime, as in every year, various workshops will also be organized on the topics that are on the agenda both in our country and the world with the participation of the professors and researchers of local and foreign universities, local public and private institutions. Also, at least 10 workshops, which will be organized in an online format and streamed live through the Conference’s official social media accounts, are planned with the participation of experts from international organizations in which around 50 professors, researchers, and experts are scheduled to participate.
Within the framework of the Conference, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, a book named “Economic Portrait of A Century” will be prepared and published with the participation of professors and researchers from local and foreign universities. In the book, Heydar Aliyev’s role in the formation and development of Azerbaijan’s economy will be analyzed and presented to readers in various sectors. The topics such as the development directions of the different sectors of Azerbaijan’s economy and development of international economic relations will be included in this book. In addition, a book entitled “Green Economy and Green Finance” will be published on the topic of green energy and green economy, which have become a considerably relevant topic in our country in recent years, and special attention has been paid to its implementation in regions liberated from occupation. Experts and researchers from local and foreign universities and various institutions in the field will participate in the preparation of the book that will be published in English for an international audience covering the topics of green economy, green investments, green finance, renewable energy, green consumption and many more. The book will also play a key role of literature for researchers in this field. Within the framework of the Conference, a book named “Strategic Management” and intended to be used as a teaching material in higher education institutions will be published and presented as well. Bringing together theory and practice in strategic management, this book is also enriched with the real case examples from the business world. Symbolically, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader’s birth, 100 research papers selected from the scientific articles of researchers of 100 different countries will be published in the form of a special book and presented to the public.
Along with all aforementioned academic richness, during the days of the Conference, cultural events will also be organized in the Heydar Aliyev Center, consisting of exhibitions on various topics related to the history, culture, and legacy of Heydar Aliyev.
It should also be noted that the international Scientific Committee, which includes professors from the world’s prestigious universities, is responsible for the evaluation of the articles sent to the Conference while the International Organizing Committee and the International Secretariat, which consists of people with international experience from all over the world, are responsible for organizing the Conference and other related issues. Moreover, the universities such as the University of Portsmouth from the UK, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Switzerland (HES-SO), Istanbul University of Türkiye, University of Malaya in Malaysia, and Kyrgyz-Turk Manas University of Kyrgyzstan are among the main partners of the Conference as the leading higher education institutions.
