Born on June 11, 1952, in the village of Idirsu, Guba district, is a distinguished scholar in the field of geography and agricultural sciences. He completed his secondary education in 1970.
From 1970 to 1973, he fulfilled his military service in the Baltic Naval Fleet.
In 1974, he was admitted to the Faculty of Geology and Geography at Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University), graduating in 1979 with a degree in Geography. Following his graduation, he was assigned to the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (now the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan) to begin his professional career.
Between 1982 and 1985, he was a full-time postgraduate student in the “Nature Protection” department of the Institute of Geography.

In 1988, he successfully defended his dissertation at the Georgian State Institute of Agriculture on the topic “The Content of Heavy Metals (Pb, Cd, Hg) in the Soils, Vegetation, and Waters of the Northeastern Slope of the Lesser Caucasus (Between the Zayamchay and Kurakchay Rivers).” This work earned him the academic title of Candidate of Agricultural Sciences (Ph.D.).
In 2001, he joined the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) as a senior lecturer in the “Economic Geography” department and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the same department.
In 2009, he began serving as Deputy Dean for the full-time division of the Faculty of General Economics (now Economics and Industry). Since 2013, he has held the same role for the part-time division.
Dr. Mammadov is the author of over 20 scientific articles, programs, teaching materials, and textbooks.
He is married and has one child.
