“Karabakh during the Republic”
On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, a meeting was held with historian, investigative writer, editor-in-chief of “Chapar” magazine Dilgam Ahmed on the topic of “Karabakh during the Republic” under the organization of the Student Trade Union Committee of the Finance and Accounting Faculty of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
Karim Karimov, chairman of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, said that the date of May 28 is written in golden letters in the annals of statehood of the Azerbaijani people. He emphasized that Azerbaijan People’s Republic, which was established 103 years ago, is a glorious page in the statehood traditions of our people, as well as a celebration of its loyalty to democratic traditions, the spirit of freedom, and respect for the rights and rights of people and nations.
Then Dilgham Ahmed spoke about the struggle of enlightened intellectuals, political figures, writers and poets of our nation to protect our national identity and traditions of statehood and to pass them on to future generations. As a result of this struggle, he said that the Azerbaijan People’s Republic, proclaimed on May 28, 1918, has fulfilled the honorable mission it undertook in the most difficult period of history. D. Ahmed also gave detailed information about the Armenians’ claims to Karabakh and the rebellions they created against the state.
