June 16 was the birthday of Anar Garayev, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics of UNEC, who rose to the peak of martyrdom in the battles for the liberation of Karabakh. If he had lived, he would have been 23.
Associate Professor Asiman Guliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Rufat Suleymanli, Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee, and students visited the martyr’s grave on the occasion of Anar Garayev’s birthday. The UNEC team paid tribute to his dear memory by arranging flowers in front of the martyr’s grave. Then the UNEC team visited the martyr’s family.
His mother told the students about Anar’s war path. He said that on July 10, 2020, his son started his military service in Goranboy district “N” military unit, and on September 15, he continued his military service in Agdam’s “N” military unit. Anar, who went to the front when the Patriotic War started, took an active part in the battles for the liberation of Talish village and Sugovushan, and was heroically martyred in Sugovushan on October 4. He was buried on October 9 in the Alley of Martyrs in the village of Almali, Gakh district, where he was born. After his death, he was awarded the “For the Fatherland” and “For the liberation of Sugovusha” medals.
In the end, the UNEC staff presented a specially prepared gift to the martyr’s parents.
