Mingachevir State University Joins UNEC’s “Popularization of Science” Initiative
The newly launched project titled “Popularization of Science,” initiated by the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), has been successfully implemented in collaboration with Mingachevir State University (MSU).
This initiative, aimed at emphasizing the significance of science, disseminating scientific achievements to a broader audience, presenting research findings to the public, and encouraging youth engagement in scientific activities, brought together prominent figures from UNEC. Participants included the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Professor Rovnag Rzayev; Academician Adil Garibov, a full member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS); the Director of UNEC’s Popularization of Science Research Center, PhD in Philosophy, Associate Professor Etibar Aliyev; the Head of the “Engineering and Applied Sciences” Department, PhD in Physics, Associate Professor Tural Naghiyev; and the Director of UNEC’s Laboratory Operations Center, Associate Professor Ramil Sadigov, who convened at MSU for a productive meeting.
The event commenced with opening remarks by the Acting Rector of MSU, Mr. Uzeyir Zeynalov, who underscored the importance of UNEC’s initiative, highlighting the critical role of science popularization in modern society. He elaborated on the recent measures undertaken by MSU to foster a robust scientific environment, promote academic achievements, publish scientific journals, and address forthcoming priorities.
In his address, Professor Rovnag Rzayev outlined the objectives of the project and the vital role of higher education institutions in advancing the dissemination of scientific knowledge and the promotion of science. He called upon academic and research organizations to adopt a proactive approach in this regard.
Subsequently, Associate Professor Etibar Aliyev, Head of UNEC’s Popularization of Science Research Center, and Academician Adil Garibov delivered thought-provoking presentations on the integration of science into society, contemporary scientific challenges, and their potential resolutions.
The event also provided an opportunity to discuss the enhancement of scientific collaboration between MSU and UNEC, as well as the strategic actions required to advance this partnership. Additionally, the representatives addressed questions posed by the participants.
The meeting concluded with UNEC representatives presenting a selection of the university’s latest publications as a contribution to the MSU library.
