Doctor of Sciences in Geography, Senior Lecturer
Afag Zakir gizi Hajiyeva
Born on May 27, 1980, in Lak village, Ujar district, is a distinguished scholar in geography.
She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Geography at Baku State University in 2001.
Between 2001 and 2008, she worked as a geography teacher at Secondary School No. 129 in Nizami district, Baku. During this time, she completed her master’s degree in “Landscape Studies” at the Faculty of Geography at Baku State University (2001–2004), graduating with honors.
She continued her academic journey as a doctoral candidate in “Landscape Studies” starting in 2004.
Since 2008, Ms. Hajiyeva has been affiliated with the Department of “Environmental Protection and Economics” at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), initially serving as a lecturer.
In 2018, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Sciences in Geography. She subsequently served as a senior lecturer in the department. On April 20, 2022, she was appointed Associate Professor in the same department.
Dr. Hajiyeva has authored 35 scientific works and theses.
She is married and has two children.
