UNEC Awarded 5 Stars in QS STARS Audit
On the occasion of its 95th anniversary, Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) has achieved a significant milestone.
UNEC has been awarded the maximum rating of 5 stars (“excellent”) in seven categories as part of the “QS Stars” audit conducted by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, one of the world’s most prestigious ranking agencies.
The audit, which assessed UNEC’s performance across nine categories, evaluated key aspects including educational processes, graduate employability, governance, infrastructure, financial resources, inclusivity, social engagement, and international collaboration. UNEC’s attainment of the maximum score of 5 stars in seven categories affirms that the university’s activities in these areas are aligned with global best practices.
The detailed audit results by category are as follows:
Teaching – 5 stars (excellent)
– UNEC was awarded 5 stars for its compliance with international standards in the full digitalization of teaching processes and for ensuring the quality of education through modern solutions.
Infrastructure – 5 stars (excellent)
– This category recognized UNEC’s excellence in campus infrastructure, library facilities, on-campus medical clinic, and the effective organization of student organizations’ activities.
Program Strength: Finance – 5 stars (excellent)
– UNEC received 5 stars in this category based on the employment rate, satisfaction level, and other performance indicators of students enrolled in the “Finance” program at the master’s level. Notably, the international accreditation of three UNEC programs by FIBAA was highlighted as a particularly commendable achievement.
Employability – 5 stars (excellent)
– This rating was achieved due to the high employment rate of UNEC graduates, comprehensive support services provided to students in internship programs, and robust industry connections established through more than 2,000 distinguished alumni employed in both public and private sectors in Azerbaijan and abroad.
Effective Governance – 5 stars (excellent)
– UNEC was awarded 5 stars for its fully digitalized document management system, the implementation of electronic tools in administrative processes, a measurable and detailed action plan aligned with strategic goals, and a governance system that meets contemporary demands.
Social Impact – 5 stars (excellent)
– UNEC’s impactful social initiatives, support mechanisms for students from underrepresented groups, and results-driven approaches in the social sphere, aligned with the university’s strategic action plan, contributed to this 5-star rating.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion – 5 stars (excellent)
– Recognized as a higher education institution that meets international standards, UNEC places a strong emphasis on inclusive education, ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
Academic Development – 4 stars (very good)
– UNEC demonstrates a strong commitment to academic development by continuously updating its educational programs, supporting the scientific endeavors of faculty and students, and facilitating their integration into the international academic community.
Global Engagement – 4 stars (very good)
– UNEC achieved this rating through its well-established partnerships with leading global higher education and research institutions, as well as the successful implementation of dual degree and student exchange programs.
