Rector gave a Report to the Scientific Council
The Scientific Council of Azerbaijan State University of Economics held the next session on June 29.
Firstly, ASUE employees who gained achievements in the careers were awarded diplomas.
Associated Professor of the Department “Azerbaijan History” Nizami Suleymanov was awarded a diploma of a Dr. of History, academic staff member of the department “Regulation of Economy” Ilhame Mammadova a diploma of an Associated Professor. Rovshan Guliyev was appointed a Deputy Director of the Scientific- Research Institute of Economic Investigations.
ASUE Rector, Dr. Adalat Muradov made a report on the main results of 2014/2015 academic year and the development of the new academic year. Speaking about the work done, Rector noted that, a high percentage of appropriation was noted by SABAH Groups of ASUE (100%) and the lowest figure was by the School of Turkic World Administration (59%). The University appropriation percentage was 85%. The highest indicator was shown by the English Language Teaching Center (98%) and the lowest by the School of Turkic World of Administration (64%). The University appropriation percentage in accordance of the spring term is 78 which decrease 7% in compare with the winter term.
Talking about the affairs done in the direction of improving the quality of the education, mentioned the achievements. He noted that, for the first time in Azerbaijan, the MBA Program was elected a full- pledged member of the European Fund on the Development of Administration.
A demo version of the Stock Exchange is being established at ASUE in accordance with the agreement reached with the State Committee on Securities. In addition, a virtual manufacture is setting up jointly with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Citizen and the World Bank.
The International School of Economics’ Charter was approved during the session and the English Language Department of International Economy was decided to work under the International School of Economics. The Department of the Azerbaijani School of International School of Economics was decided to be founded.
The issue of the tuition fee was also touched upon during the session and it was decided that the fee paid by the international students would be adapted with the fee paid by the local students. In addition, tuition fee on Retraining was adapted to the fee paid by the full- time and part- time undergraduate level of the appropriate majors and the fee paid by the doctoral students will be adapted to the fee of other institutions performing in Azerbaijan. Proposals on increasing fees paid to the scientific supervisors were also heard. It was also noted that, the students, with the exception of the first courses, will be able to do payments on tuition fees twice beginning with the new academic year.
It was also, decided during the session that, the students who got the certificate of the IELTS- 5 of TOEFL- 80 points would be released to take the English classes and have an option of the other foreign language.
Afterwards, the Scientific Secretary Elnur Sadigov’s report on the Scientific Council’s performance during the 2014/2015 academic year was heard.
