About the Department
OUR HISTORY: In line with the “UNEC 100” Development Strategy, the Scientific Council of Azerbaijan State University of Economics made a decision on 14.09.2020 (No. 173) to establish the “Career Planning and Development” department to train highly qualified personnel who meet the requirements of the modern labor market and to involve professional specialists in the teaching process.
According to this decision, the department started its activities at UNEC on 22.01.2021.
From the first day of its establishment, Assoc. Prof. E. H. Azadov led the department, and on 15.09.2021, Assoc. Prof. R. R. Maharramov was appointed as the head of the department, where he currently leads.
The academic staff of the “Career Planning and Development” department, operating under the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, mainly consists of professional specialists from the business world, as well as Azerbaijani teachers with master’s and doctoral degrees obtained in both local and foreign institutions. The teaching staff includes 1 associate professor and 2 senior lecturers.
OUR VISION: Our vision is to be recognized as a department with a professional academic staff that preserves the university’s renewed, modern teaching and management methods, maintains its gained academic reputation globally, contributes to the social and economic life of the country through quality teaching, and conducts internationally significant research to elevate the names of Azerbaijan, our university, and our department.
Our greatest ambition is to see our students as distinguished professionals in the highly competitive future labor market.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS:
Participation in “Soft Skills” training programs in Israel and learning from international experience. Based on this experience, a series of 80-hour “Soft Skills” training sessions were organized for 500 teaching and administrative staff of UNEC through the UNEC Lifelong Learning Center, with the contributions of our department’s teachers.
Additionally, a similar training program was conducted for a team of 250 school teachers, organized with the participation of our faculty members on the order of the Ministry of Science and Education.
