UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov and Head of the International Relations Department Anar Kazimov took part in the 110th Anniversary of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
The representatives of the prestigious educational, scientific, economic and political bodies of Russia, including guests from the different higher education institutions of the world joined the jubilee of the first economy-oriented university of Russia. Events were started with the “Business meeting” held in the format of breakfast. The meeting held on “The Future of the Higher Education and the Development of Universities” was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation, President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Russia, General Director of the company “Rostex”, Vice-president of the company “Rosoil”, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Russian Federation and more than 100 representatives from the different countries of the globe. Views on the role of education in improving the citizens’ welfare, requirements imposed by society and economy on the higher education and the ways and means of transforming the universities were exchanged within the business meeting. The issue of developing experiences in the direction of increasing the demand to the graduates of higher education institutions was discussed. Various questions on the topic were responded in the end of business meeting.
UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov noted that the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics plays a significant role in the economic and political development of the country within the meeting with the Rector of University, Professor Victor Grishin. He emphasized that alumni of the higher education institution based on a rich history and experience are being recognized as professional staff not only in Russia but also outside the country.
V.Grishin highlighted the achievements gained by UNEC recently have created a foundation to take place among the world’s leading higher education institutions. The launch of the Russian School of Economics at UNEC increased the possibilities of bilateral cooperation. V.Grishin invited UNEC Professors to lecture at the Russian University of Economics.
Decision on starting the adaptation of the disciplines to develop dual diploma programs was made during the meeting. Agreement on the preparation of modules with the Plakhanov Russian University of Economics which has the most developed distance education opportunities has been achieved.
UNEC Rector met with the administration of the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, Shandong Financial and Economic University of China, Zagreb School of Economics and Management, Luxemburg School of Economics and Management, Ural State University of Economics and other higher education institutions. Agreements on the directions of bilateral cooperation, especially development of dual diploma programs were gained within the meetings.
