PhD in agrarian sciences, Associate Professor Ramil Ali oghlu Sadigov
Born on November 2, 1983, in Fuzuli district into an intellectual family.
In the 1989-1990 academic year, he enrolled in the first grade of Fuzuli District School No. 3 named after Khurshidbanu Natavan. Due to the war in 1992, his family moved to Baku, where he continued his education at School No. 46 in Khatai District.
In the 1999-2000 academic year, he graduated from high school with excellent grades and entered the Faculty of Geography at Baku State University in the specialty “Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Efficient Use of Natural Resources.” During his studies, he received both a “high achiever” scholarship and a “special scholarship” awarded by Rector Academician A. Maharramov.
In the 2003-2004 academic year, he graduated with honors and continued his education in the master’s program in “Geographic Ecology” at the same faculty, earning an “excellent” grade for his thesis defense in 2006.
On January 15, 2007, he was admitted to the postgraduate-doctorate program in “Soil Science” at the Institute of Erosion and Irrigation, part of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). During his three years as a postgraduate, he worked intensively on his dissertation, completing it and submitting it for defense. He is the author of over 100 scientific articles and theses, published in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English in both local and international journals.
From January 15, 2010, to January 1, 2011, he served as a senior sergeant and sanitary instructor in the “N” military unit of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan in Gədəbəy district.
Starting from April 2, 2012, he worked as a leading specialist in the “Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Department” of the “Institute of Specialization and Advanced Training” of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. On October 31, 2012, he became the head of the same department.
On September 16, 2013, he joined the “Hydrotechnical Structures and Hydraulics” department of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction as a full-time assistant. From September 15, 2014, he worked as a senior lecturer in the same department. Following internal scientific reforms during the 2016-2017 academic year, he was appointed as a full-time senior lecturer in the “Ecology” department after passing a competition.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as an Associate Professor in the “Petrochemical Technology and Industrial Ecology” department at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.
Starting from the 2022-2023 academic year, he has been working as an Associate Professor in the “Engineering and Applied Sciences” department at the Faculty of Engineering, Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
On April 1, 2014, he defended his dissertation on “The Impact of Erosion Processes on Fertility Parameters of Soils in the Mountainous Agricultural Zone of the North-Eastern Slope of the Lesser Caucasus (Example of Gadabay district)” and was awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Sciences by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission.
To continue his scientific work, from the 2015-2016 academic year, he began research on a doctoral dissertation on “Ecological Assessment of the Soil Basin of the New Shamkirchay Reservoir,” under the scientific advisorship of Academician G.Sh. Mammadov at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The research is conducted in the field of soil science and ecology.
He is the author of over 100 scientific articles (published locally and internationally) and has supervised over 60 bachelor’s and master’s theses.
Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in the “Engineering and Applied Sciences” department at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
As of November 23, 2024, he has been appointed as the Director of the Laboratory Operations Organization Center, maintaining a 0.5 staff equivalency as an Associate Professor.
