In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) has initiated a comprehensive mandatory sustainability (with a focus of environment) training program for its 697 administrative staff members. This program mandates an annual commitment of 15 hours of training per employee. The primary aim of this initiative is to furnish all personnel with a comprehensive understanding of the pressing global challenges confronting society today. It aims to deepen their knowledge regarding the implications of climate change, a reality we are presently confronting, and to equip them with strategies to effectively address the SDGs.
In addition, aligned with the objectives of the SDGs, UNEC has established an essential sustainability training program focused on the social dimensions of sustainability. This initiative requires a dedicated 12 hours of training annually for each of its 697 administrative staff members. The program is designed to provide a robust understanding of societal global challenges, delve into the impacts of climate change we face today, and offer insights into addressing the SDGs with a particular emphasis on social sustainability practices.
