The centre named after Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus is inaugurated at UNEC
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus has been at UNEC.
During his visit to UNEC in 2016, Muhammad Yunus, who participated in the opening of the Yunus Social Business Center established at the university, cut the opening ribbon of the centre in the presence of Rector Professor Adalat Muradov, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, People’s Writer Chingiz Abdullayev and got acquainted with the centre.
Rector Adalat Muradov informed about the purpose and activities of the establishment of the centre. He said that the centre was created to promote the idea of social business among young students. Academic meetings, seminars, discussions and research will be held in the centre to support the development of the social business idea in Azerbaijan and the region. At the same time, it will implement student exchange programs, academic debates, internship programs, and volunteer activities.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about international relations in science and education in Azerbaijan. Pointing out that UNEC has achieved great success in this direction; the head of ANAS emphasized the importance of establishing the Yunus Social Business Centre in the higher educational institution.
Professor Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, expressed his satisfaction to be at UNEC again and emphasized the importance of training skilled young researchers in social business. He emphasized that the Yunus Social Business Center will incentivise students and young people in this direction. M. Yunus dedicated his first lecture at the Business Centre to the problems facing the social business field.
In the end, questions were answered and commemorative photos were taken.
