After the UNEC team arranged flowers in front of the monument, they were informed about the genocide committed by Armenians. It was reported that the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex, created with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was opened on September 18, 2013. The complex contains images of different areas of the city of Guba at the beginning of the 20th century, photos about the lifestyle of the population. On the special map on the monitor installed in the complex, it is possible to get information in several languages about the acts of genocide committed by Armenians against our people in different regions of our country in the last century. It was noted that the Guba genocide cemetery was discovered on April 1, 2007, when earthworks were being carried out in the area. After that, the employees of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences conducted extensive research in the mass grave. As a result of research, it was determined that the cemetery was related to the genocide committed by Armenians against the local civilian population in 1918.
