The Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov welcomed the guests and gave detailed information about the university’s activities, specializations, forms of education, and international relations. He especially emphasized the visit of the Chairman of the State Customs Committee and the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization to the university and the meeting with the students.
The Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Shahin Bagirov, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with the students and highly appreciated the reforms carried out at UNEC. Highlighting the cooperation between UNEC and the Academy of the State Customs Committee, the chairman of the committee noted the importance of this cooperation for both parties.
Sh. Bagirov informed the students about the Trans-Caspian International East-West-Middle Corridor and the work done in the direction of simplifying the transit customs procedure.
The Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, Kunio Mikuriya, talked about the implemented projects related to the international customs system and international trade. Then he answered the students’ questions on the introduction of a tariff-free border for developing countries, including Azerbaijan, simplified transit rules, etc.
At the end of the meeting, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, Kunio Mikuriya, was presented with the diploma “Honorary Doctor of UNEC”.
