The purpose of the annual “Orientation Day”, which is traditionally held at world universities, is to introduce university life to newly enrolled students, to give them more information about the educational process and to have a fun, positive day.
During the Orientation Day, organized at all UNEC academic buildings and at Zagatala branch, the tutors and mentors provided information to newly enrolled students, while student volunteers guided them at the university.
For freshmen, the stands of student organizations, Career Center, UNEC Startap and Enactus are also installed in the courtyard of the university. They were provided with detailed information on the activities of student organizations and projects implemented and the students’ social life. At the UNEC Startap and Enactus stands, new start-up ideas, show of international competitions and projects implemented have been held and new members were involved to the team. UNEC Career Center gave advice on career planning to newly enrolled students and spoke about the center’s activities and organized a Career Planning Test for them.
On “Orientation Day”, students were introduced to the lesson schedules posted on electronic monitors. On the electronic monitors they received information about the faculty they have entered, student body faculty representations, about the active students acquiring the second excellent student scholarship, as well as UNEC’s dual degree programs.
The event featured music performed by UNEC Creative Center members, there were entertaining and intellectual games and sports competitions for freshmen. During the event president scholars shared their thoughts about the university on the live broadcast of Radio UNEC.
It should be noted that 4799 students entered UNEC during the 2019/2020 academic year, 3273 of them are bachelors and 1526 are masters.
