The Differential Salary System is being improved at UNEC

Changes and amendments have been made to Differential Salary System applied at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The amendments made for further improvement of the system were conducted on the basis of one- year experience of the Differential Salary Commission and proposals from the academic staff. The changes and amendments cover two directions. The first direction consists of modifying, clarifying and explanatory changes. But the second reflects concrete innovations.

The innovations made to the regulations related with the Differential Salary System applied at UNEC in 2016/2017 academic year are as follows:

  • The total points given to the co- author scientific articles are divided equally between the authors, except the articles published in the journals indexed by the Thomson Reuters and Scopus.
  • The total points given to the co-author scientific books are divided equally between the authors, except the books published by international publishing houses.
  • “Translation of famous textbooks taught at the world universities” was included in the list of training- methodological facilities.
  • The total point on training- methodological facilities are divided between the authors.
  • “Preparation of new syllabuses” is removed from the section “training- methodological facilities”.
  • Each teacher will be able to enter the activity on one scientific event only once.
  • Only the list of the Higher Attestation Commission is based in publishing articles on the journals of the CIS area which are not indexed. But the scientific journals of the other countries’ universities, state bodies and international organization are based on.
  • In the seminars and trainings appropriate with the employees’ major it is necessary that at least one side of the organizers of the event would be the higher educational institution, state body or international organization.
  • In scientific events at least one side of the organizers of the event is required to be higher educational institution, state body or the international organization.
  • Confirmation document of the activities on scientific journals, as a rule, are the web pages of these journals. In this case the authors are obliged to enter the appropriate links of the sites in the system. If the web pages are not available, the author is required to download the copies of the appropriate parts of them in the system.
  • Entering the data in the system they are obliged to enter the other confirmation links (e.g. the link confirming journal’s index) in the system. Otherwise, the information will be considered invalid.

The relevant changes in the network of the Differential Salary System are being currently carried out. The academic staff members will soon be able to enter the information related with their scientific and pedagogical activities after the system will be ready to use.
