A conference dedicated to the International Day of Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is held at UNEC
With the organization of UNEC Inclusive Education Center a conference dedicated to the International Day of Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been held.
At the opening of the conference, the director of the UNEC Inclusive Education Center, Sevinj Mahsimova, spoke about the activity of the center, the work done and future goals, as well as the role of the development of inclusive culture in the general well-being of our society.
Then Ayten Tanrivardiyeva, head of the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities sector of the Ombudsman’s office, Esmira Aliyeva, an employee of the Disability Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Khayala Jafarova, a member of the Bar Association, Nargiz Hajiyeva, head of the department of organization of Scientific Activity, Aydın Khalilov, chairman of Independent Living Centre PU, Murad Mirzayev and Intigam Babayev, the founders of the Psychosen Online psychological support platform made a speech and shared their knowledge and experience in their fields with the participants of the event. Speakers emphasized the importance of effective integration of people with disabilities into society, bringing advanced international practices on inclusive society to Azerbaijan, as well as continuous support for increasing the capacity of educational institutions.
