An international scientific conference on “The University that Heydar Aliyev wanted to see” is held at UNEC
An international scientific conference on «The University that Heydar Aliyev wanted to see» has been held under the joint organization of the Heydar Aliyev Center for the Application and Research of Eurasian Studies of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and Turkey’s Ibn Khaldun University.
Before the conference, the event participants visited the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s grave in the Alley of Honor, laid flowers in front of it, and commemorated his dear memory.
At the opening of the conference, a video of the great leader Heydar Aliyev’s speech in front of the university staff on the 70th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics was shown.
The rector of UNEC Professor Adalat Muradov pointed out that great leader Heydar Aliyev, while speaking at the 70th anniversary of the University of Economics, had expressed his views on the development of the university. Stating that the reforms carried out in UNEC are based on the recommendations of the national leader, the rector announced the innovations had been implemented in this direction. He emphasized that in 2030, UNEC aims to be among the top 500 universities in the world. Professor Adalat Muradov said that the great leader’s dream university had been realized in the form of UNEC and he was proud of it.
Then, the Director General of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ministry of Science and Education, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Misir Mardanov announced the conceptual ideas of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the direction of the development of higher education in Azerbaijan. He said that the great leader set the task of carrying out every renewal in the education system through evolution, defining priority directions, creating Azerbaijan’s own educational model, and establishing the educational system of independent Azerbaijan based on national values and universal values. Misir Mardanov also spoke about the current problems in the field of higher education and their solutions.
Professor Yashar Sari, the head of the Heydar Aliyev Center for the Application and Research of Eurasian Studies of the Ibn Haldun University of Turkey, who made a speech at the event, gave information about the activities of the center headed by him. He spoke about the contribution of Heydar Aliyev’s political activities and unparalleled services to Azerbaijan-Turkey relations.
Then UNEC vice-rector for educational affairs, associate Professor Geray Musayev, made a speech with the presentation on “Heydar Aliyev’s higher education policy and the new university model”.
The international conference continued with round tables on “New management model in the higher education system”, “Application of digital education model”, and “UNEC model in the internationalization of higher education” under the moderation of vice-rectors.
